New Orleans police arrested 29-year-old Luis Enrique Orobio Jr. after two people were stabbed and critically injured Monday morning in the 3500 block of Garden Oaks Drive in Algiers.

Police said Orobio was involved in an argument with his girlfriend about 5:30 a.m. when he got a knife and stabbed her several times. He also stabbed multiple times a man who was sleeping at the same location

Both victims were listed in critical condition.

Orobio fled the scene but later went to a hospital, where he was taken into custody.

He was taken to Central Lockup and booked on two counts of attempted second-degree murder and violation of a protective order.
