New Orleans police are searching for Daniel Hankton, who they believe shot a 42-year-old man in Central City about 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Police said they believe Hankton, 23, shot the man after they got into an argument in the 2000 block of Danneel Street. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that were described as not life-threatening.

Someone identified Hankton as the likely shooter, police said. They intend to book him on a count of attempted second-degree murder.
