New Orleans police have identified a second juvenile suspect in a string of recent armed robberies and carjackings across the city.
Police obtained an arrest warrant for Ryan Davis, 15, in connection with six incidents reported between May 28 and June 1, the department said in a news release Wednesday.
Officers initially arrested one suspect, a 15-year-old boy, after tracking a silver Toyota Camry to the corner of Lotus and Gladiolus streets Thursday. Two others in the vehicle left the scene, and one was later identified as Davis.
The Camry was later discovered to have been stolen in an armed carjacking May 29, police said.
Police named Davis as a suspect in these incidents:
--An armed carjacking in the 4600 block of Majestic Oakes Drive on May 28
--An armed robbery in the 3700 block of Banks Street on May 29
--An armed robbery in the 2500 block of St. Philip Street on May 29
--An armed carjacking in a Wal-Mart parking lot in the 6000 block of Bullard Avenue on May 29
--An attempted armed robbery in the 8500 block of McKenna Street on June 1
--An armed robbery in the 8700 block of Spruce Street on June 1
Detectives “expect to connect Davis to additional reported armed robberies,” police said, and are working to identify additional suspects.
