Man fatally shot Sunday in Gentilly

A 19-year-old man was fatally shot late Sunday in Gentilly.

The shooting, which also wounded a 22-year-old man, happened about 10:30 p.m. at Paris Avenue and Lafreniere Street. The names of the victims had not been released late Monday.

Responding officers found both victims lying in the street. The 22-year-old had been shot in the leg, while the 19-year-old, who later died at the hospital, had been shot in the back.

State Police: 2 booked in N.O. meth lab

Two New Orleans men were arrested on drug charges Sunday after State Police uncovered a methamphetamine lab in the 4300 block of Calliope Street.

Justin Chambers, 29, and David Murray, 58, were booked on counts of operating a clandestine lab, possession of a Schedule II drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

State Police searched the men’s residence and found two grams of methamphetamine and “undisclosed amounts of precursor chemicals used in the manufacture process of methamphetamine,” said Trooper Melissa Matey, a State Police spokeswoman.

Man booked on child porn, drug counts

Authorities in Plaquemines Parish arrested a 39-year-old man on allegations he distributed child pornography.

Christopher C. Hurson, of Metairie, was taken into custody after an undercover investigation conducted by the Plaquemines Parish and Jefferson Parish sheriff’s offices.

Hurson allegedly shared two software files in February that contained video of a girl between 9 and 11 years old having sex with a man. Investigators traced the files to a home on Martin Behrman Avenue in Metairie, which they searched Friday.

Authorities said they found child pornography on Hurson’s hard drive as well as methamphetamine and steroids in the home.

Hurson was being held in the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in lieu of $32,750 bail.

Covington police seek child porn suspect

Covington police and the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office on Monday were looking for Richard “Duane” Crawford, who authorities said is wanted on more than two dozen counts of child pornography.

Authorities this month found a cellphone belonging to Crawford that contained images of child pornography, Covington Police Chief Tim Lentz said.

Crawford, 37, may be in Bogalusa or Poplarville, Mississippi, authorities said.

NOPD looking for man in Gentilly carjacking

New Orleans police Monday were searching for an unidentified man wanted in a Gentilly carjacking.

The incident happened about 8 a.m. Thursday in the 2100 block of Sumpter Street. Police said the victim had gotten out of his vehicle when a man with a handgun approached and demanded the keys.

The man stole the gray 2005 Lexus RX 300 with Louisiana license plate OGR 168.

Police: Man robbed at home in N.O. East

Police are investigating an armed robbery late Sunday in New Orleans East.

A 60-year-old man had left his vehicle running at his residence in the 6000 block of Boeing Street when an armed man approached and demanded his wallet and phone, police said.

The robber fled in the vehicle.

Woman wanted in Algiers burglary

New Orleans police are looking for a 59-year-old woman wanted in connection with a burglary in Algiers.

Aura Argentina Samayoa is accused of breaking into a home March 24 in the 500 block of Huntlee Drive.

Police said she ransacked the master bedroom and stole cash and jewelry.
