The man killed in a shooting spree that rattled the 2100 block of Governor Nicholls Street in Treme on June 5 has been identified as 27-year-old Dominique Cosey.

Coroner Jeffrey Rouse said that Cosey died of a gunshot wound.

Cosey was the oldest of four people shot around 2:15 p.m. on the street. His age was initially reported by the New Orleans Police Department as 17.

Police said on June 5 that they were looking for a red Nissan Versa with dark tinted windows and an unknown, out of state license plate used in the killing. The vehicle was later recovered and is being processed for evidence, police spokesman Officer Frank Robertson said.

Detective Amy Robinson is in charge of the investigation and can be reached at (504) 658-5300.
