A man wanted in an attempted murder case in Coushatta was arrested early Wednesday after a 30-minute standoff with Slidell police and U.S. marshals.
Slidell police said Valere Frazier was arrested without incident at a home in the 1300 block of Westlawn Drive in Slidell.
He was wanted on multiple felony warrants from the Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office, including two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and aggravated criminal damage.
He also was being sought for fleeing from a Slidell police officer during a May 10 traffic stop and is wanted by the Louisiana State Police for insurance fraud.
Frazier, who is being held at the Slidell City Jail, will be extradited to Red River Parish.
