New Orleans police are searching for a man with whom they would like to speak about the murder of 11-year-old Arabian Gayles.

Investigators believe Jordan Montrell, 20, might have information about the case, said Police Department spokeswoman Remi Braden.

Gayles was killed Sept. 2 after someone opened fire outside her home in the 1300 block of Gen. Ogden Street in the Carrollton Area. Bullets that pierced a wall of the home also injured her 11-year-old cousin and wounded another man.

Police previously have spoken with three other men who, they said, might also have information about the shooting but have made no arrests.

Anyone with information on Montrell’s whereabouts is asked to contact homicide detective Barret Morton at (504) 658-5300 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
