The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation will hold its Save Our Lake and Coast Fishing Rodeo on Friday and Saturday throughout the Pontchartrain Basin, which includes the bayous, rivers and tributaries of lakes Pontchartrain, Maurepas and St. Catherine, and Borgne and Breton sounds.

The weigh station will be at the Kenner boat launch at Laketown, 4599 Williams Blvd. Weigh-in hours will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
There will be food and live entertainment at the after-party at 4:30 p.m. Saturday on the lawn of the Treasure Chest Casino, 5050 Williams Blvd. Admission to the party is $10 for adults, while children under 12 enter free.
Registration is open for the foundation’s “School of Fish,” in which children ages 8 to 15 learn to fish. The program will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon June 23, and again on June 24, at the New Canal Lighthouse, 8001 Lakeshore Drive, New Orleans.
