A 20-year-old man was arrested Thursday in the armed robbery of three students on Oct. 10 at the student center on Tulane’s campus, authories said
Acting on tips from the public, New Orleans and Tulane police arrested Tre Spadoni on Thursday afternoon in the 2900 block of Orleans Avenue. During questioning, Spadoni confessed to robbing the students, police said. Detectives also recovered the weapon used in the crime as well as some of the clothing the robber was wearing.
The crime occurred around 4 p.m. on Oct. 10, when the victims were studying at the Lavin-Bernick Student Center. The armed robber approached the students and ordered them to get cash from a nearby ATM. Once the victims complied, the robber fled on foot.
On Oct. 14, the NOPD released a photograph of the suspect taken from surveillance video. Detectives said they were able to identify Spadoni as the suspect through citizen participation and Crimestoppers tips.
