The girlfriend of former Orleans Parish District Attorney Eddie Jordan was arrested Thursday night for slapping him, according to nola.com.

Cherylynn Robinson, 50, was arrested on one count of domestic abuse battery, the website reported, after a fight in which she allegedly slapped him once in the face.

New Orleans police arrested Robinson in the 4000 block of Lennox Boulevard in Algiers.

Jordan served from 2003 to 2007, when he resigned after a federal jury found that Jordan, who is African-American, had committed racial discrimination by firing many of the office’s white investigators. The DA’s office threatened to crumble under the weight of a $3.7 million legal debt stemming from that case.

Prior to that, Jordan served as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana from 1994 to 2001.

Robinson was involved in a strange incident in 2007 in which a suspect fled to Jordan’s house after an armed robbery. Robinson was friends with the man, Elton Phillips. The case against him was later dropped.

Jordan reportedly told police that he did not want to go through with pressing charges, according to nola.com. Efforts to reach the couple on Friday were unsuccessful.
