GIVE LIGHT FILM PREVIEW: Angela King Gallery will host a fund UpRaising Party from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5 at 241 Royal St., New Orleans. The event includes a screening of the short film “Give Light: Stories from Indigenous Midwives,” live music and drumming by Angelamia, songs by Gingerbread and Kelly Love Jones, Art in Action by Josh Jones and a preview of the upcoming feature-length documentary.

All proceeds will go to the film’s Kickstarter campaign. Director Steph Smith will be in attendance and will host a question-and-answer session afterward. NOVAC EDITING WORKSHOP: The New Orleans Video Access Center offers independent filmmakers and aspiring students low-cost media training, equipment rental and networking.
