A mother and daughter were arrested Monday for animal cruelty after the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Department found more than 40 neglected animals at their Bogalusa home.

According to a report from WWL-TV, Terri Turner and her daughter, Frannie Fisher, were repeatedly warned on multiple occasions to take better care of their 40 dogs and cats after neighbors reported instances of neglect.

The Human Society of Louisiana helped sheriff’s deputies remove more than 20 dogs, 20 cats, a duck and a rabbit from the home, WWL reported.

The Humane Society is seeking donations from the public to help care for the animals. Donations can be made at www.humanela.org.
