A tourist was pepper-sprayed in an early morning robbery at Tulane Avenue and La Salle Street on April 17, police said.

The victim was drunkenly trying to find his way to his hotel about 4 a.m. when an unknown woman offered to give him a ride in her red Hyundai, police said. The victim accepted the offer, but police said she was no Good Samaritan. She drove him to a gas station and asked him to refill her tank, police said, and he “reluctantly agreed.”

After getting the man’s debit card PIN number, the woman pepper-sprayed the man at Tulane and La Salle and took his wallet, police said. Then she fled.

Police said the woman is white, about 5-foot-5 and 135 pounds. Surveillance video released by police shows a blonde.
