St. George’s Episcopal School eighth-graders set off for high school _lowres

A graduation ceremony was held May 29 for 23 eighth-graders completing their time at St. George’s Episcopal School in New Orleans.

The ceremony featured comments from class speaker Samantha Raeder, and tributes to retiring faculty members Kathleen Lassus, Barbara Miner and Julie-Ann Wegmann. Fourth-grader Lucy Wagner concluded the celebration with the traditional “Ringing Out of the School Year.”

Raeder received the Order of St. George Award, the Gwen Moore Emerging Scholar Award, the President’s Education Award and recognition for scoring in the top 5 percent on the National Spanish Exam.

Miles Michell received the Middle School Headmaster’s Award, the President’s Education Award and recognition for scoring at the top 10 rank in the Concours national French contest.

Megan Poole received the Dragon’s Award.

Graham Grieb received the Marcia Bridge Cooke Award for Mathematics, the President’s Education Award and recognition for scoring in the top 5 percent on the National Spanish Exam.

John Brannon received the President’s Education Award and recognition for scoring in the top 10 percent on the National Spanish Exam.

Asher Loubier and Jessica Jordan got President’s Education Awards and recognition for scoring at the top 10 rank in the Concours national French contest.

Charlie Kaliszeski got a President’s Education Award.

Katie Williams got the Arthur Carroll Waters Spirit Award.

Next year, members of the St. George’s Episcopal Class of 2015 will be attending Archbishop Chapelle High School, Jesuit High School, Ben Franklin High School, Lusher Charter School, Metairie Park Country Day School, Isidore Newman School, De LaSalle High School, Archbishop Rummel High School, Holy Cross School, St. Martin’s Episcopal School, Holy Rosary High School and St. Mary’s Dominican High School.
