Metairie man killed in vehicle accident

Metairie — A 54-year-old Metairie man died after he overturned his truck on North Causeway Boulevard late Monday night.

George Belle died at East Jefferson General Hospital from injuries sustained in the 3300 block of North Causeway Boulevard, said Glen Boyd, a spokesman for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Belle apparently lost control of the truck while making a left turn at 17th Street. The vehicle flipped, and Belle was ejected, Boyd said.

Officials have not determined if impairment was a factor in the crash.

Teacher accused of indecent behavior

Slidell — The Louisiana Attorney General’s Office arrested a Slidell junior high school teacher on Monday after authorities say the woman molested a former student.

Traci Beaucoudray, 34, was booked with three counts of indecent behavior involving a juvenile, one count of computer-aided solicitation of a minor and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Beaucoudray, who is a teacher at Boyet Junior High School, was arrested after an investigation that also included the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The Attorney General’s Office did not release the age or gender of the victim.

It was unclear whether the victim still attended the same school as Beaucoudray or attended another school.

Suspect sought in Marrero robbery

Marrero — The FBI is looking for a man who robbed a Capital One bank in Marrero on Tuesday morning.

The incident was reported at 11:35 a.m. at a bank in the 4600 block of the West Bank Expressway, according to a news release. A man walked into the bank and demanded money using a note. He left with the cash in a blue bag, according to the release.

The suspect was described as being about 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing about 300 pounds. He was wearing a black shirt, black cap, gray sweat pants and sunglasses.

Police seek suspect in robbery attempt

Metairie — A would-be armed robber who was foiled by a tricky cash register is now being sought by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Glen Boyd, a sheriff’s spokesman, said detectives are looking for a man who tried to rob a gas station in the 900 block of Clearview Parkwayon Thursday.

A surveillance video shows a man approaching the station carrying a white bag and a note that demanded money. However, the clerk could not provide the cash because the cash register only opens when a purchase is made. The would-be robber left on foot without any money.

The suspect is described as being a white male about 20 to 25 years old, of medium height with a thin build and letters tattooed on his fingers.

Woman accused of assisting in stabbing

Harvey — A 20-year-old New Orleans woman was arrested Sunday after the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office reported she was involved in the stabbing of an unidentified man.

Sabrina Honore was booked with being a principal to aggravated battery Sunday, according to an arrest report.

The report stated that two women were fighting in the 1100 block of Clydesbank Drive, and one of the women was armed with a knife. That woman left the fight and returned with Honore, who also was armed, the report stated.

Investigators say Honore watched while the other woman stabbed the victim.

Police: Man illegally used complex gym

Terrytown — A Harvey man who reportedly refused to stop breaking into an apartment complex to work out was arrested by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office on Monday.

Roland Dibartolo, 36, was booked with criminal trespassing after he was caught working out at the Gates of Oakwood apartment complex on Monday, according to an arrest report. Dibartolo is not a resident at the complex and had been told to stay off the property, the report stated.

Father arrested in teen son’s beating

Harvey — A Harvey father’s response to his teenage son’s disobedience landed him in jail Monday, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Jon Barrow, 37, was booked with cruelty to a juvenile and simple criminal damage to property after he was accused of beating his son with a stick at a Marrero middle school and slamming his head into a window, according to arrest report.

The report states that Barrow came to Truman Middle School last week after his son’s teacher reported that the boy was misbehaving in class.

Barrow is accused of beating the boy with a stick in his classroom and then slamming his head against a window until the window broke.

Barrow was arrested after being interviewed by detectives.

Cashier accused of throwing hot coffee

Kenner — A cashier at a restaurant in Louis Armstrong International Airport was arrested Monday after a customer reported that she threw coffee on her during an argument.

Arlette Bolding, 32, of New Orleans, was booked with simple battery by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office on Monday.

An unidentified woman reported that she was at the Praline Connection restaurant in the airport where she ordered a coffee. However, according to the report, the woman decided her coffee was too strong and asked for a refund from Bolding.

After receiving the refund, the woman and Bolding argued, and the victim reported that Bolding threw the coffee in her face.
