The New Orleans Police Department is searching for a 14-year-old who officers allege shot another boy of the same age in New Orleans East on Thursday.
Police allege Tyrone Walton, who is three months shy of his 15th birthday, shot the other teen in the 8900 block of Morrison Road around 11:30 a.m. after an argument.
The victim, who was riding his bike at the time of the shooting according to a police log of major offenses, was shot multiple times. He ran to the 9000 block of Bunker Hill Road and was then taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police noted that they generally do not release the names of juvenile suspects, but Louisiana law allows for authorities to name children accused of violent felonies who are at large.
Anyone with information on Walton’s whereabouts has been asked to call the Seventh District Detective Unit at (504) 658-6070.
