Monday is the deadline to enter an international photography contest with the theme “Climate, State of Emergency.”
The Alliance Française of New Orleans is host of an initial round of the contest being conducted by the Fondation Alliance Française. The theme was chosen because the 21st U.N. Conference on Climate Change will be in Paris in December. The 40 finalists in the contest will go to Paris with all expenses paid to exhibit their photos.
Candidates are invited to submit works illustrating the issues that arise in their environment/climate and its actual or perceived changes, the resulting effects on people’s lives and the solutions, public or private, which in their countries are taken or imagined to fight against the negative effects of these developments.
Candidates 18 and older must submit two photos via Facebook, tagging The Alliance Française of New Orleans and using the hashtag #climatetatdurgence.
An entry form at af-neworleans.org also must be completed to be eligible to win. The local winner will receive a $100 cash prize, and the second-place finisher will receive $50.
