A man has been arrested and accused of forcing his young son to break into his mother’s house in the 500 block of Criswell Court in LaPlace on Monday.

Anthony Wilson, 30, made his son, 5, break into his mother’s house through a pushed-in air conditioning accordion spacer and then unlock the door for him, according to St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre.

Wilson and his wife, Casey Ramsey, 27, then fled in a gold-colored car, Tregre said.

Police responded to a tripped burglar alarm about 2:45 p.m.

Tregre said the young boy confessed when questioned.

Wilson was booked on counts of simple burglary, simple criminal damage and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Ramsey was booked on being a principal to simple burglary, being a principal to simple criminal damage and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Bail has not been set for either one.

The boy was placed in the custody of a grandmother.
