Public transportation in Jefferson and Orleans parishes was beginning again Wednesday morning.

The Regional Transportation Service, which on Tuesday night suspended service on the West Bank, had bus operations on both sides of the river restored by 9 a.m. Wednesday. However, several detours were in place and riders should expect delays.

Streetcars were not running. Buses were running in their places.

Jefferson Transit, which suspended all services Tuesday night, began limited service again at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Riders on the east bank with questions are asked to call (504) 818-1077, while riders on the West Bank are asked to call (504) 367-7433.

All ferry service remained suspended.
