Cabrini High School alumna returns as head volleyball coach _lowres

Kasey Laird, a 2008 graduate of Cabrini High School, has been named head volleyball coach for Cabrini.

Laird earned a bachelor of science degree in biology at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, and a master’s of science in kinesiology, with a coaching education emphasis, from Georgia Southern University.

At Millsaps, Laird was a member of both the volleyball and track and field teams. In volleyball, she was conference player of the year. As a member of the track team, she won the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference discus throw three consecutive years and the SAA shot put throw.

In 2014, she became the assistant volleyball coach and recruiting coordinator for Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas.

A four-year letter winner in volleyball at Cabrini, Laird was a three-time all-district selection, earning Division II MVP honors in 2008. Laird led the Crescents to the state title in 2007 in Division II volleyball. She was named to the 2008 Louisiana Volleyball All-Star Team.
