Man stabbed by woman in N.O. East bar
New Orleans police said they found a man, 49, suffering from stab wounds inside the Twin Stop Lounge, 8600 Chef Menteur Highway, about 1 p.m. Friday. They arrested a woman standing on a nearby porch.
No further information about the incident was available.
Woman asks man for money, shoots him
Just before midnight Friday, a woman asked a man, 43, for money as he stood outside in the 3300 block of Garden Oaks Drive in Algiers.
When he said he had no money, she shot him, police said.
Woman killed by truck in Gert Town
Just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday, a woman, 33, whom police described as “possibly intoxicated” got out of her boyfriend’s car and was standing in the middle of Oleander Street near Short Street when a red Ford pickup hit her.
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she died.
Officers did not issue the truck’s 64-year-old driver a citation. He was not injured. Results of alcohol tests are pending.
Man stabbed Saturday in French Quarter
About 2:30 a.m. Saturday, a man, 51, was asleep in the 100 block of Iberville Street in the French Quarter. He awoke to find another man going through his pockets.
The two struggled, and the 51-year-old man was stabbed several times. He was taken to a hospital.
Victim refuses to hand over money to robber
The NOPD is seeking an unidentified youth in connection with an attempted armed robbery that occurred about 3:10 p.m. Tuesday at Napoleon Avenue and Freret Street.
A 29-year-old man said he was approached from behind by someone who said, “Give me your money.” When the man refused, the robber produced a black and chrome handgun, pointed it at the victim and again demanded money.
The victim again refused, and the robber threatened to kill him.
However, the victim kept walking away, and the robber fled on foot.
The robber is described as a black male, 13 to 14 years old, 5-foot-10 and about 160 pounds. He was wearing a dingy light-colored shirt with dark basketball shorts.
