34-year-old man shot Sunday in Central City
A 34-year-old man incurred a gunshot wound to the shoulder about 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the 2000 block of Seventh Street. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition, said Officer Frank Robertson, a New Orleans Police Department spokesman.
No further information was immediately available.
Trio rob man Sunday at gunpoint in Marigny
A trio of unknown men robbed a 35-year-old man at gunpoint early Sunday morning in Faubourg Marigny.
Police said the man was approached in the 1500 block of Pauger Street about 3:40 a.m. One of the three men produced a gun and demanded his property. He complied and the men fled.
Woman stabs man with kitchen knife
A verbal altercation between a man and a woman in the 5100 block of Marigny Street ended with a man being stabbed with a kitchen knife early Sunday, police said.
Police said the woman stabbed the 40-year-old man once about 1:30 a.m. He was taken to a hospital.
Man robs McDonald’s drive-thru at gunpoint
An unknown armed man robbed a McDonald’s Restaurant in the 2600 block of St. Claude Avenue on Saturday night.
Police said the armed man approached the drive-thru window and demanded money just after 10 p.m. The cashier complied, and the man fled.
Bridge City shooting reported in Jefferson
A shooting was reported Saturday night in the 1500 block of Bridge City Avenue in Jefferson Parish.
The incident happened about 9:30 p.m. The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s office.
No additional details were made available.
Mid-City man hit in head with a bottle
A 19-year-old man was struck in the head with a bottle after being involved in a fight Saturday night in Mid-City, police said.
Police said the victim was leaving the restroom of an establishment in the 4000 block of Tulane Avenue about 9 p.m. when an unknown man approached him and a fight ensued.
An unknown woman intervened and hit the 19-year-old victim across the forehead with a bottle, according to an NOPD report.
Police said both suspects fled on foot. The victim was taken to the Interim LSU Hospital for treatment of minor lacerations.
Man cut in the back on South Claiborne
New Orleans police said a 58-year-old man sustained injuries Saturday night in the 4100 block of South Claiborne Avenue.
The man said he was approached by a woman he didn’t know just after 9 p.m. She produced an unknown weapon and cut his back, police said.
She fled on foot.
Bike taken at gunpoint on Canal Street
Police said a 45-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint about 6:15 p.m. Saturday while riding his bike in the 1800 block of Canal Street.
An unknown man armed with a gun got out of a U-Haul truck and demanded the bike, police said. The cyclist complied, and the man fled.
Three sought in Gentilly burglary
The NOPD is asking the public to help identify three men who burglarized a convenience store in Gentilly on Saturday afternoon. The crime was caught on surveillance video.
At about 4:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to investigate a business alarm in the 4100 block of Jumonville Street, Officer Frank Robertson said. They found a front metal door had been pried open.
The store’s 56-year-old owner arrived shortly thereafter. He said more than $15,000 in cash, $7,000 in scrap metal and more than $10,000 in cigarettes were missing, as well as a rifle and a .40-caliber pistol.
All three burglars are described as black men.
One was bald and was wearing a black mask, a black baseball cap, a black shirt, khaki pants and black gloves.
The second has a short twists hairstyle and wore a black mask, a Miami Heat cap, a white T-shirt and black pants.
The third wore a black mask, a gray Brooklyn baseball cap with a black bill, a black shirt, black pants and black gloves.
Third District Detective Roger Caillouet is in charge of the investigation.
Man robs auto store Saturday at gunpoint
Police are searching for a man who robbed an Advance Auto Parts store near St. Roch about 2 p.m. Saturday.
An unknown man wearing a gray hoodie, armed with a handgun, entered the business and ordered some customers to the floor and others to the back of the store while instructing an employee to open the register and safe, police said.
The man took the money and fled.
