A suspect has been identified in a Friday armed robbery at the Clearview Mall in Metairie, and the victim is speaking out on social media.

“Yesterday I was a victim of armed robbery, at Target on Clearview … broad daylight,” Brandon Nguyen posted on Facebook Saturday. “New Orleans (yes even in Metairie) is just getting out of control.”

Losand Mansion, 20, of LaPlace, was identified as a suspect in the robbery, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Glen Boyd said.

JPSO said the robbery occurred around 8 p.m. Friday, though Nguyen’s post said it happened around 5 p.m.

Nguyen said on Facebook that although he had a gun, “I just couldn’t let myself take a life yesterday.

“It may have been a different story if my family was with me, but I was alone,” Nguyen wrote. “He was lucky I decided not to pull the trigger, and so was I that he didn’t.”

Authorities asked anyone with information on Mansion’s whereabouts to call the JPSO Robbery Section at (504) 364-5492.
