An Arabi teenager was caught inside a woman's vehicle on Thursday, and her father-in-law made sure he didn't get away with it.

An Arabi resident on Firscoville Avenue said he was packing his vehicle for work about 5:30 a.m. when he noticed Nicholas Russell, 19, of Arabi, inside his daughter-in-law's vehicle. As Russell reportedly left the vehicle, the resident approached with his handgun and ordered Russell to the ground, according to a police report.

The man's son reportedly heard the commotion and call St. Bernard Parish police, who arrested Russell and booked him on a count of simple burglary. After three prescription pills were discovered in a bookbag he had with him, Russell was also booked on illegal possession of prescription pills.

Russell also faces an additional count of car burglary after he was identified in other car buglaries in the Arabi area, police said.
