Women-turns drug, gun haulfighting call
New Orleans — New Orleans police officers responding to a report of a fight Uptown on Tuesday found a cache of guns and drugs when one of the combatants fled into a nearby home.
Police found nearly three ounces of cocaine, two bottles of hydrocodone, marijuana, several guns and $3,500 in cash in a home in the 2500 block of Milan Street on Tuesday afternoon. Police reported that one of the three weapons found, which included an assault rifle, had been reported stolen from Jefferson Parish.
Officers were called to Milan Street at about 2 p.m. because of a report of two women fighting. But when they arrived on the scene, one of the women fled into a nearby home, where she was later found hiding under a bed. However, once inside the home, police saw a handgun and marijuana, according to a news release.
Officers obtained a search warrant and went through the home using dogs. That’s when they discovered the other drugs and weapons, the report said. Police booked Alfonso Stovall, 25, with three counts of illegal carrying of weapons with a controlled dangerous substance, possession of crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

N.O. women chargedin merchandise scam
Mandeville — Two New Orleans women were arrested by the Mandeville Police Department on Wednesday after authorities say they tried to scam a store clerk and were then caught with a dozen fake IDs.
Renada Robertson, 32, and Demaria Conner, 25, were booked on counts of felony theft of goods, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, disturbing the peace and remaining after being forbidden, said Lt. Gerald Sticker, a police spokesman. He said other charges could be forthcoming.
Police said the women had a complicated operation that included fake Louisiana and Texas IDs, a shopping bag lined with foil and a device used to deactivate store security tags. The women were also found in possession of roughly two dozen gift cards, Sticker said.
Police say the women were captured after they tried to return items they picked up off the shelves at a Victoria’s Secret in Mandeville to get a fraudulent refund. When the store clerk refused to cooperate, the women became belligerent, and police were called, Sticker said.
Sticker estimates that the women had about $2,000 to $4,000 in stolen merchandise in their possession.
