Information about immigration and naturalization will be presented during an educational session at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the Algiers Regional Branch Library, 3014 Holiday Drive, New Orleans.
The session, presented by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, is free and open to the public. USCIS personnel will discuss general immigration procedures such as the immigration process and becoming a lawful permanent resident. USCIS personnel will then discuss the naturalization process and provide information about eligibility and residency requirements, application forms, fees, the background security check and processing times. Free educational materials will be given out while supplies last.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services also announced that its New Orleans field office is moving from Metairie to 1250 Poydras Street, Suite 1800, New Orleans.
