PosiGen, a Metairie firm that leases solar power systems to homeowners, topped the 39 Louisiana businesses that made Inc. magazine’s annual list of the 5,000 fastest-growing private U.S. companies.

PosiGen ranked No. 58 and was among 18 New Orleans-area companies on the list.

Of the 10 Baton Rouge-area firms on the list, tax collection specialist e-Gov Systems was the highest-ranking for the capital area, coming in at No. 364.

Of the four Lafayette-area firms on the list, engineering firm WMD Squared ranked No. 1,333.

BATON ROUGE AREA: At No. 364, e-Gov Systems, whose cloud-based platform helps state and local government agencies collect taxes, licenses and fees, grew its revenue 1,299 percent over three years to $6.6 million in 2014.

Other area firms are No. 689, Southern Marsh Collection, retail, 656 percent gain to $17.2 million; No. 975, Darren James Real Estate Experts, 453 percent gain to $2.8 million; No. 1,177, Transformyx, IT services, 358 percent gain to $12.8 million; No. 1,441, Envoc, software, 287 percent gain to $2.9 million; No. 1,785, FMM, construction, 224 percent gain to $3.8 million; No. 3,386, ShoppersChoice.com, retail, 97 percent gain to $60.8 million; No. 4,327, Gulf South Technology Solutions, IT services, 63 percent gain to $3.1 million; No. 4,331, Verma Systems, IT services, 63 percent gain to $4.3 million; and No. 4,829, Starmount Life Insurance Co., insurance, 49 percent gain to $98.4 million.

LAFAYETTE AREA: At No. 1,333, WMD Squared, which provides mechanical and electrical engineering, industrial design, and drafting services to create precise manufacturing packages, grew by 312 percent over three years to $2.5 million in 2014.

Other area firms are No. 2,138, Potenza, advertising and marketing, 183 percent gain to $3.5 million; No. 3,514, Quality Companies USA, energy, 91 percent gain to $122.8 million; and No. 4,061, Bottom Line Equipment, construction, 71 percent gain to $51.4 million.

NEW ORLEANS AREA: At No. 58, Posigen’s revenue skyrocketed by 4,500 percent over three years to $68.7 million in 2014.

Other area firms are No. 183, Pontchartrain Partners, heavy construction and dredging, a 2,255 percent gain to $24.9 million; No. 807, MaxHome, construction, 549 percent gain to $8.8 million; No. 993, Solomon Group, media company, 442 percent gain to $18.8 million; No. 1,240, Hunt Telecommunications, telecommunications services, 339 percent gain to $18.8 million; No. 1,377, Carrollton Enterprise Services, government services, 301 percent gain to $6.2 million.

Also, No. 2,027, Trigon Associates, engineering, 194 percent gain to $6.4 million; No. 2,280, Integrated Logistical Support, engineering, 170 percent gain to $3.7 million; No. 2,352, tasc Performance, consumer products and services, 162 percent gain to $7.2 million; No. 2,841, Townsend, health, 126 percent gain to $11 million.
