Drago’s Seafood Restaurant opens Wednesday week at the Hilton Jackson in Mississippi, in its first venture outside the New Orleans area.

The 400-seat restaurant settles into a building made over in a $2.5 million, four-month renovation of the 9,700-square-foot space.

The Jackson site will be Drago’s third location. The other sites are in Metairie and at Hilton New Orleans Riverside.

Drago’s is home of the original charbroiled oysters. The restaurant was founded by the Cvitanovich family in 1969.
