Metairie-based Millennium Healthcare Management Urgent Care has expanded into the rehabilitation business with the acquisition of the East Jefferson Occupational Medicine Clinics in Metairie and Kenner and the St. Charles Occupational Medicine Clinic in Luling.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

MHM operates 16 urgent care centers, which treat ailments and injuries.

“MHM will now make it easier to treat injured workers seven days a week at any of our 16 centers throughout southeast Louisiana and include the subsequent rehabilitation process at our new occupational medicine clinics,” said Keith LeBlanc, chief executive officer of MHM Urgent Care.

“We want to ensure the residents of southeast Louisiana that the MHM Urgent Care Centers are not changing, only expanding, and that expansion is going to benefit businesses and their employees alike,” he said.

The new MHM Occupational Medicine Clinics will not only treat and rehabilitate injured employees, but they will also offer pre-employment medical screenings, including strict OSHA and FAA testing and substance abuse exams with an emphasis on preventive care and education.

The acquistion makes Millennium the largest urgent care and occupational medical care network in southeast Louisiana, said Dr. Gerald Cvitanovich, Millennium’s chief medical director.

Millennium’s locations include clinics in New Orleans, Metairie, Kenner, Hammond, Houma, Luling, Mandeville, Thibodaux, Marrero, River Ridge and Lafayette. The company was formed in 2006.
