The New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corp. renewed its contract Wednesday with a New York firm for advertising and marketing services.
The board voted unanimously to sign the firm 360i to a two-year deal at the same rate as its current contract.
The new contract will begin Aug. 1 and extend through July 31, 2016.
According to the agreement, 360i, which also operates as Dentsu Inc., will continue to earn $86,362.50 per month to create marketing campaigns and place ads for the city’s tourism industry. The company works in conjunction with a local firm, Spears Consulting Group, on its work for the industry.
Two years ago, 360i, then known as Dentsu, and Spears beat out Peter A. Mayer Advertising and the multicultural marketing firm GMc+Company Advertising for the work. The two New Orleans agencies had held the contract for more than a decade.
The initial 360i contract was for one year with an option for annual renewals. Marketing Corp. board members said they were satisfied enough with the agency’s work over the past two years that they felt it appropriate to extend the contract for a longer period.
