CommCare names Jim Tucker as president, CEO _lowres

James W. “Jim” Tucker has been named president and chief executive officer of CommCare Corp., a New Orleans-based nonprofit that operates 11 skilled nursing facilities, a hospice and institutional pharmacy in Louisiana.

Tucker currently serves on the board of directors and takes the position held by John Stassi II, who will become general counsel and chairman of the board.

“Mr. Tucker’s experience in real estate, finance and public service brings a wealth of expertise that benefits residents of CommCare’s centers,” Stassi said.

Tucker has been a managing partner in various real estate companies since 1996. From 2001 to 2012, he served as a representative in the Louisiana Legislature and was elected Speaker of the House from 2008 to 2012. Tucker also has served as treasurer and former chairman of the Algiers Development District, trustee of Baptist Community Ministries and board member of UNO Foundation.

The New Orleans company operates skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers in West Monroe, Natchitoches, Pineville, Avoyelles Parish, Baton Rouge and Slidell.
