Megabus, which offers daily express bus service across the U.S., will introduce a New Orleans-to-Orlando route Thursday.
The bus will leave Elysian Fields Avenue, between St. Claude and N. Rampart, and make stops in Mobile, Alabama; Gainesville and Tallahassee, Florida, before stopping in Orlando 11 hours later. To mark the introduction of the route, Megabus is offering $1 one-way fares, plus a reservation fee, through May 22.
The double-decker buses offer free Wi-Fi and power outlets on every seat.
Megabus was introduced in New Orleans in early 2012. It now offers daily service to 12 cities, including Houston, Atlanta and Memphis, Tennessee. The company also provides daily bus service out of Baton Rouge, with service to New Orleans, Houston and San Antonio.
