A Canadian crane company has acquired New Orleans-based B&G Crane Holdings Inc., one of the largest crane and heavy haul transportation companies in Louisiana and Texas.
Terms of the deal with NCSG Crane & Heavy Haul Holdings Inc. were not announced. The Sterling Group LP was the majority owner of B&G, which was founded in 1946 by the Grilletta family. Sterling bought the majority share of the business in 2010 from the family.
B&G has branches in Baton Rouge and Beaumont and Baytown, Texas, and a fleet of more than 150 cranes and 100 trucks.
The B&G management team, including Gawain Grilletta, vice president of operations; Rich Haggard, vice president, sales and marketing; Xavier “Trip” Grilletta III, Texas general manager; and Xavier Grilletta Jr., vice chairman, will continue to run the business on a day-to-day basis and will all become shareholders of NCSG.
NCSG is a wholly owned subsidiary of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada-based NCSG Crane & Heavy Haul Corp., which is owned by an investor group led by TriWest Capital Partners, Alberta Teachers’ Retirement Fund and NCA Partners. Over the past nine years, the parent company has completed 12 acquisitions and has become one of the largest maintained crane and heavy haul companies in North America.
