Budget carrier Allegiant plans to add seasonal nonstop service to Tulsa, Oklahoma, from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.

Twice-a-week flights are slated to run May 26 until Oct. 16 to and from Tulsa International Airport, Allegiant said Tuesday.

A limited number of one-way fares to both locations will start at $39, the Las Vegas-based Allegiant said. Introductory fares must be purchased by March 14 for travel by Oct. 16.

“We are very happy to see Allegiant continue to grow in New Orleans,” said Iftikhar Ahmad, aviation director for the New Orleans airport. “With the announcement of Tulsa, we now have 54 nonstop destinations, eight of which are served by Allegiant, and we are happy to see their brand grow rapidly in Louisiana.”
