A $24 million medical and physical rehabilitation hospital is scheduled to open in Mid-City this summer.

The 60-bed Cobalt Rehabilitation Hospital will specialize in treating traumatic brain injuries, concussions, Parkinson’s Disease, in addition to providing other in- and out-patient services. The facility, located at 3701 Bienville St., is scheduled to begin receiving patients in July.

City leaders and company executives held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday at the 66,000-square-foot facility, which will support 178 permanent jobs, including physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists and nurses.
