Valpak, a Florida-based print and digital coupon company, is targeting New Orleans among 18 new franchise territories it plans to expand into this year in Louisiana, Florida, California, Texas and New York.

Last year, Lake Charles was among markets it expanded into in Louisiana, New York and Delaware.

Valpak, which mails coupons in its flagship blue envelopes, said it is pursuing franchisees as part of a growth plan to increase its presence throughout North America. It has nearly 170 franchises across the United States and Canada.

Media company Cox Enterprises acquired the Valpak brand in 1991. Recently, Cox Target Media also acquired, an online site for personalized deals. Valpak operates a 470,000-square-foot manufacturing center in St. Petersburg, Fla., and mails more than 20 billion coupons to more than 40 million demographically-targeted households per month in more than 100 markets in 45 states and four Canadian provinces. It also has digital advertising products, including smartphone apps.
