JetBlue plans to connect south Florida and south Louisiana with nonstop service starting this fall.

The once-daily route is slated to operate round-trip between Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and Florida’s Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport beginning Sept. 29, JetBlue said Thursday.

JetBlue will now offer nonstop service to 46 destinations from the Fort Lauderdale airport, including connections to the Caribbean and Latin America.

Introductory one-way $49 fares are available for flights taken during the first month of service. The fares must be purchased by March 10.
