BAYOU L’OURSE — A woman shot a man in the face during a domestic dispute Monday night, and while investigating the shooting, deputies uncovered a methamphetamine lab in the home where the injured man was being cared for until help arrived, Assumption Parish sheriff’s deputies said Thursday.
Frances Boudreaux, 31, who previously had been in a relationship with the victim, shot him in the cheek shortly before 7 p.m. in front of a home at 203 Aristile Road, Bayou L’Ourse, deputies said in a news release Thursday.
Boudreaux and Heather Guillory, 35, who lives at the house at 203 Aristile Road, took the man into Guillory’s home while they waited for paramedics, said Robert Martin, a Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
Deputies searched Guillory’s home after it was considered part of the crime scene because the victim had been taken inside for first aid, Martin said, and they found materials for a clandestine drug lab and drug paraphernalia.
Boudreaux, 128 Pond Drive, Morgan City, was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center in Napoleonville on Tuesday with a single count of aggravated second-degree battery, deputies said. Her bail was set at $10,000.
Guillory was booked with a single count of creation or operation of a clandestine lab, possession of drug paraphernalia and three illegal drug possession counts, deputies said. Her bail was set at $56,239.
The victim was taken to Thibodeaux Regional Medical Center for nonlife-threatening injuries, deputies.
