Ascension Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested early Saturday morning a registered sex offender accused of inappropriate acts with a 14-year-old girl.
Deputies responded to a Donaldsonville home after witnesses said they saw Albert Fleming, 30, committing the lewd acts with a teen girl who had fallen asleep on the Donaldsonville home’s living room floor, said Chief Deputy Tony Bacala.
Fleming arrived at the house sometime after the teen, who visited the house regularly, had fallen asleep, Bacala said. As witnesses were questioning Fleming about what happened, he ran, only to be captured nearby by deputies, Bacala said.
“As the investigation continued, it was learned that Fleming may have engaged in illegal sexual acts with the juvenile on more than one occasion at different locations against her will,” Bacala said.
Fleming has a prior conviction of forcible rape and is a Tier III sex offender required to check in quarterly with the sheriff’s office sex offender division, Bacala said.
Fleming, 35160 La. 1 North, Donaldsonville, was booked into Ascension Parish Jail on two counts of aggravated rape because the incidents allegedly occurred at two different locations, Bacala said.
