A section of Cannon Road, an east-west cut-through route north of Gonzales, will be closed for a week starting 7 a.m. Monday, parish officials said.

Workers will replace metal culverts under Cannon, a two-lane parish road that links La. 44 to La. 431, with a new box culvert, officials said in a news release.

The work is happening between La. 44 and O’Neal Road and is expected to last until 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29.

The culverts are located two-tenths of a mile east of La. 44 and three-tenths of a mile west of O’Neal.

Residents living on Cannon will have access the road from La. 44, O’Neal Road or North Amelia Avenue.
