A 47-year-old Gonzales man was killed Friday morning in a fiery crash on La. 941 south of La. 30 in the Brittany area of Ascension Parish, according to a State Police news release.

Benjamin J. Leboeuf was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Corvette around 1 a.m. south on La. 941 when his vehicle ran off the road to the left, went into a ditch and struck a driveway embankment.

The Corvette then went airborne and rolled numerous times before ending up on fire in a private driveway, troopers reported.

It was unknown whether or not Leboeuf was wearing a seat belt.

Troopers submitted a toxicology sample from Leboeuf to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis while the fatal accident remains under investigation.
