DONALDSONVILLE — A Donaldsonville man was arrested on drug-related charges after a three-month investigation into his suspected activities as a dealer, said Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Lt. Col. Bobby Webre.
At one point, Narcotics Division detectives were able to purchase cocaine from the man, Webre said.
Warren Henry, 56, of 1208 Vincent St., Donaldsonville, was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on three counts of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute the substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer with force or violence, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office. His bail was set at $20,639.
On Sept. 26, detectives got a search warrant and found cocaine packaged for resale at Henry’s home, with a street value estimated at $2,000. Scales used to weigh the drug also were found in the home, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
As detectives attempted to arrest Henry, he began fighting with detectives but was taken into custody without injury, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
