CONVENT — The St. James Parish Clerk of Court’s Office will conduct a school for people interested in serving as election commissioners.

Clerk of Court Edmond Kinler Jr. said the classes are set from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 12-14 at the Clerk’s Office on the second floor of the parish courthouse in Convent.

Anyone interested in being certified to serve as a new commissioner may attend any time during the class hours and testing takes about 15 minutes, Kinler said.

Louisiana’s 2011 gubernatorial primary election is scheduled for Oct. 22 and the state’s gubernatorial general election is set for Nov. 19.
