GONZALES - Police and Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested three men Thursday, accused in a series of copper thefts from area merchants and construction vehicles, the Gonzales Police Department reported.

Dalin Ardoin, 30, 6894 Ouida Irondale Road, Weyanoke; and Thomas L. Holmes, 25, 15317 Floyd Holton Road, Prairieville, were both booked with five counts of felony theft in excess of $1,500, four counts of simple burglary and four counts

of criminal damage to property.

Jacob C. Holmes, 22, 15317 Floyd Holton Road, Prairieville, was booked with three counts of being a principal to burglary, and one count each of simple burglary, felony theft in excess of $1,500 and criminal damage to property.

According to a news release issued by the Police Department, the five-week rash of thefts began on June 29.

Value of the property damaged and stolen is in the tens of thousands of dollars, police said.

The three suspects were being held in the Ascension Parish jail.

Bail had not been set as of Thursday evening.
