Hennry Buggage of Belle Rose was arrested for attempted rape Nov. 16.

A Belle Rose man was booked Sunday on a count of attempted rape after the son of the intended victim fought off his mother’s attacker, according to Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack.

Henry Buggage, 58, of 188 Grisaffe Lane, Belle Rose, had given a woman a ride home from the Alexis Sports Bar in Paincourtville.

When the woman arrived home and locked the door, she found the man, naked from the waist down, in her living room, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.

When the man began to attack her, the woman’s 16-year-old son intervened, and Buggage ran from the house. He was found by deputies and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on counts of attempted rape and home invasion, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
