An armed man sporting a fake beard, resembling the facial hair of men in the popular reality television show “Duck Dynasty,” tried a Halloween morning trick at an Assumption Parish daiquiri shop.

But he ended up with no treat as his abandoned robbery attempt left him empty-handed and wanted by the law Friday afternoon.

Assumption Parish sheriff’s deputies are looking for the man who tried to rob the Daiquiri Beach on La. 70 Spur in Plattenville at gunpoint about 2 a.m. Friday but ran away before he could get money from the register.

Sheriff Mike Waguespack said in a news release that the man is white, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and was wearing a dark, long-sleeved shirt or jacket, with a dark baseball cap and a bushy, “Duck Dynasty” fake beard.

Dimly lit surveillance video released by the Sheriff’s Office appears to show the man pointing a handgun of some kind.

Those with information on the attempted robbery should call the sheriff’s Criminal Investigative Division at (985) 526-1627 or Communications Division at (985) 369-2912.
