LOCKPORT — State Police said they plan to arrest a man after 10 homemade pipe bombs and other explosives were found in his pickup after it crashed in Lafourche Parish early Monday, troopers said Tuesday.

Tony Barisich, 53, of Terrytown, suffered moderate injuries after he drove his pickup off La. 308 in Lockport about 7:30 a.m., troopers said in a news release.

He was taken to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center for treatment.

When he is released from the hospital, Barisich will be arrested and booked with 10 counts of manufacture and possession of a bomb, and one count each of possession of explosives without a license, reckless use of explosives and unlawful storage of explosives, said Bryan Zeringue, Troop C spokesman.

Barisich did not intend to use the explosives maliciously, troopers have said.

Instead, Barisich planned to use the explosives for “entertainment purposes,” troopers said in the news release.
