CONVENT — A Convent man faces a mandatory life sentence after his second-degree murder conviction for a stabbing outside a River Road bar in which a Paulina man was killed nearly two years ago.
Prosecutors accused Kyriene L. Vallery, 24, 6268 Convent Station Lane, of fatally stabbing Christian Allen, 25, in the back at Club 7002 in Convent on Nov. 28, 2013.
Judge Tess Percy Stromberg, of the 23rd Judicial District, is scheduled to sentence Vallery on Dec. 28 after a St. James Parish jury found Vallery guilty 10-2 on Oct. 1, prosecutors with the judicial district said in a news release.
Two others implicated with roles in the slaying, Walter Scott III and Lakquan Wiggins, have cases that are pending.
Scott, of Gonzales, is facing a charge of principal to second-degree murder. Wiggins, of Paulina, has been charged with being an accessory after the fact to second-degree murder.
