Troy “Choot ‘em” Landry, of “Swamp People” — the cable television show that follows Louisiana alligator hunters — is offering $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible for damage to a gate he owns on a canal south of Bayou Tranquil, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office reports.

The gate blocks the canal, better known as the Mitchell Canal in Lake Verret, from trespassers and poachers. Recently, it sustained several thousand dollars worth of damage, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division at (985) 526-1617, Capt. Lonnie Mabile at (985) 252-8100 or the Communications Division at (985) 369-2912.
