DONALDSONVILLE — The owner of a personal care services agency has been arrested on charges she defrauded the state Medicaid program of more than $54,000, officials said Thursday.

Marilyn Buggage Warr, 260 Reynaud Drive, Donaldsonville, submitted the false claims that her company, Christian Foundation Inc., purportedly made between 2006 and February 2010, the Louisiana State Attorney General’s Office said in a news release.

Christian Foundation is located at 2358 La. 1 South.

Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies and investigators with the AG’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit arrested Warr last week, the news release says.

The state Department of Health and Hospitals has sent a letter notifying Christian Foundation that its Medicaid provider agreements will end due to Warr’s arrest, AG’s Office officials said.

Christian Foundation will be allowed to remain open for 30 days so clients can be transferred to a new Medicaid provider, officials said.

Funded by the state and federal governments, Medicaid is a health insurance program for the poor. DHH administers the program in Louisiana.
